Egress Profile

The graduate in Dance is formed to understand dance as a knowledge area and act professionally referenced by a theoretical scope of inter, multi and transdisciplinary character that addresses it as cognitive activity of the body and its settings , artistic or pedagogical as historical-cultural transient syntheses and evolutionary bodily processes. This egress at the end of the course has the capacity to make relations between theories, between thought lines of dance, between events and agencies of the history of dance. Very important in the context of autonomous argumentation that is expected from the egress is the conviction that connections that are made are not mere approximations for another theory to speak for dance.

The egress is also formed for a participatory public enaction, subsigated by content and strategies of updated approaches and by critical argumentation that allows him (her) to position himself (herself) in front of the issues on the agenda in Brazil and in the world. Among these issues are the public policies for dance, art and culture, questions about globalization in art, the education utilitarianism, the pedagogical demands, the relationship between politics and aesthetics and their resulting symbolic links and Institutional.

It is important that the egress has the capacity to support argumentation on dance codes and to the interpretation, creation and art production and to question the choreographic creation and the scenes production with an implication in a conception contemporary, regardless of the practice or technique employed.

The graduates must finalize their master's degree and doctorate degree with the reflection and generation of innovative production and create the articulation and dialogue between art and other knowledge area, stimulating the interfaces creation between the artistic doing, the work appreciation of art and the development processes of other knowledge, having mastery of the transversalization practice and knowledge integration, with the openness to the daily experiences and practices in the production of new educational and artistic knowledge.
